For some of you, mercury in the amalgams, fluoride in the drinking water, or the radiation from the x-rays causes concern. Here at Jawman dental, we base our treatment off of peer-reviewed scientific studies and research. Below are links to various studies that may help to answer some of the concerns and questions about the safety and health of some of the materials and procedures used at the dentist. If you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to ask the doctors at Jawman Dental.

"Radiation exposure associated with dentistry represents a minor contribution to the total exposure from all sources. The National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements (NCRP) has estimated that the mean effective radiation dose from all sources in the United States is 6.2 millisieverts (mSv) per year, with about 3.1 mSv of this dose from natural sources and about 3.1 mSv from man-made sources. About half of the man-made radiation exposure is related to CT scanning."
